What is a Yogathon?: A YRO Yogathon is a FUNdraising event that brings the yoga community to aid organizations who help children and families. It’s a day-long event, running from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with up to 1,000 people participating.

Where do the fundraising proceeds go?: YRONE 2017 will support the Yoga Reaches Out Wellness Program at Boston Children's Hospital which provides yoga, meditation, reiki, and more to families at the hospital. Your support will help expand programs at the Yoga Reaches Out facility within the Hale Family Center for Families. In addition, you will be supporting Off the Mat, Into the World (OTM), a non-profit that is dedicated to bridging yoga and activism by using the tools of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism. OTM helps individuals take the path of yoga "off the mat and into the world" by expanding the sphere of change outward to local and global communities by facilitating personal empowerment through leadership trainings, fostering community collaboration, and initiating local and global service projects.

Who will be instructing the yogis?: In the morning, yoga practice will be led by Jacqui Bonwell, Jessie Dwiggins, Claire Este-Mcdonald and Gregor Singleton, Jojo Flaherty, and Bill MacDonald. The afternoon session will be led by world-renowned yogi, Seane Corn.

Will I really be doing yoga all day?: No, there will be plenty of other activities! In between the sessions, you may experience live music or performing arts demonstrations, hear from the organizations who benefit from Yogathon, walk through the Marketplace for yoga and wellness related goodies to sample and purchase, have lunch with friends, or enter a raffle for some amazing prizes. There is a total of 4 - 4 1/2 hours of yoga throughout the day and the Yogathon is open to participants of all levels, ages 14 and over. You can attend the entire day or a portion of the day.

Will there be food at the Yogathon?: We will have an opportunity for you to purchase boxed lunches, concession stands, and the marketplace will offer some sampling of food.

How do I participate in the YRO Yogathon?: It's very simple! Click on the Event Home page and register your basic information. You will choose if you would like to register as an individual, start a team, or join a team. There is a $25 registration fee. Your mat space will be secured when you raise the minimum $250, but we hope you will be inspired to raise significantly more!

Am I committing to raising a minimum amount of donations?: Yes. By registering to be a part of Yogathon, you are sharing in the vision of giving back with Yoga Reaches Out. Each participant commits to raising a designated minimum of $250 to support the beneficiaries of the Yogathon.

What is the difference between registering as an individual, starting a team, or joining a team?: Every participant whether they register as an individual, a team captain, or a team member will enjoy the same yogathon experience. Every participant fundraises the minimum $250. If you choose to be a team captain, you will lead the fundraising charge for your team members, encourage your community to register, set goals, and build camaraderie and excitement around the event. A team captain is only responsible for their own $250 minimum fundraising goal. All teams will be placed together on the field.

Where do I mail checks?:

Please mail the checks you receive from your donors to:

P.O. Box 5352
Wayland, MA  01778

Please make the check out to Yoga Reaches Out New England, and in the memo section, please write your name so we can credit your fundraising page.
